Nigel’s Story

Starting his career in IT solutions for inventory provision followed by six years as a Trade Union Official, Nigel moved to the private sector developing a number of businesses focusing mainly on the manufacturing industry. Moving into Law Enforcement he enjoyed a twenty-year career combining front line activities with a specialism in Learning and Development.

From 2010 until 2016 Nigel was the head of the BNTVA Charity for atomic veterans, leading the organisation through its evolution into a successful campaigning charity, fully engaged on the world stage, achieving a £25 million budgetary provision in 2015, Prime Ministerial recognition and United Nations Consultative Status for the organisation. Collaborating extensively with Stephen in the development of the BNTVA they decided in early 2015 to share their hard-learned skills and abilities with other charities and organisations by founding BH Associates.

In December 2017 Nigel was made a Commander with crown and palm of the Ligue Universelle du Bien Public in recognition of his work for the international nuclear survivor community.

Nigel was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his services to the British Nuclear Community in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours List and continues to work in the International Nuclear Survivor Community to promote unity and cooperation.
