 Nigel’s Story

As a seasoned professional, I bring a rich and diverse background that spans IT, trade unionism, manufacturing, law enforcement, and the charitable sector. This unique blend of experiences has shaped my professional journey and equipped me with a versatile skill set.

  • Early Career: I began in public sector IT Logistics solutions, followed by successful private sector work in manufacturing before returning to the public sector in law enforcement and intelligence.
  • Charitable Leadership and significant milestones. During my six-year tenure at the BNTVA Charity, we achieved remarkable results, including securing a £ 25 million budgetary provision and gaining Prime Ministerial recognition and UN Consultative Status.
  • Entrepreneurship: Co-founded BH Associates and BH Grant Services, providing expertise to charities and other organisations.
  • Recognition: My work with nuclear survivors has been recognised nationally and internationally. I was honoured to be made a Commander with crown and palm of the Ligue Universelle du Bien Public, a testament to the global impact of my advocacy. The late Queen also made me a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to the British Nuclear Community.
  • Public Service: Having spent much of my career serving the public I am currently a Governor of Castle Donington College and Chairman of the Centre for Health Effects of Radiological & Chemical Agents at Brunel University London.
  • Advocacy: During the last year, I have championed the development of The Cold War Network and am a founding member and Director of the BNTVA Museum, which preserves the heritage of our nuclear veterans.
